UK Model Advice offers our clients a number of services, one of which includes your portfolio.
The first thing to understand is the actual impact your portfolio has. It is quite simply your CV but in an image format. Your portfolio is used to show selective agencies and employers the following aspects:- Your versatility, ability to portray different characters and how photogenic you are. You do not want your portfolio to merely be a collection of 'pretty images' as this is not necessarily what the industry is looking for. If you only showcase one type of look you may be limiting yourself to just one type of job!
Although it is not 100% essential to have a portfolio, as there are a few agencies that can sign you up with a few snap shots only. It can be very difficult to choose which snap shots to send across, whether or not you can clearly see your features in the images and finally if that style of image best showcases what the agency is looking for. As an aspiring model it can be difficult to put yourself in an agency/clients position when you are not sure of the industry standards or expectations. This is where UK Model Advice can help make things more simple for you by ensuring your portfolio is tailor made towards your main features and strengths which will showcase the best of your ability relevant to the modelling industry you best fit into.
Models day
This is designed to ensure you get a true understanding of what basic potential you have to enter the modelling industry, whether or not you are suitable for modelling, what type of model you are, your key strengths and weaknesses and which agencies to potentially start contacting. We hold our 'model's day' assessment every weekend, the entire assessment takes between 5 - 7 hours on average and at the end of it you should walk away with all the above pointers addressed. The 'model's day' allows us to give you a more detailed support and tailor made guidance whilst allowing you to have a trial shoot designed to replicate a professional modelling shoot.
A non refundable £60.00 booking fee is required to cover the cost of the days shoot, information on the potential you have, strengths & weaknesses and agency/client contact details tailored to suit you.
CD images
All images provided on the CD have been colour corrected to make a strong first impression. These images can then be sent to agencies when applying. The images you send across to the agency will either make them decide to call you in for an interview and potentially discuss signing you up, or alternatively they could decide they do not feel you have the right look for their agency.
Once our industry experts have decided there is potential for you and the type of modelling you are best suited to, we will personally hand pick the images relevant to that industry that show case you in the best possible light and produce your CD image collection accordingly.
- £30 per image with a recommendation of between 15-20 images
Portfolio book
To get booked in for modelling jobs you will need a portfolio. Without a portfolio it is almost impossible for the client to know whether you are photogenic and how much versatility and variety you may have. Your portfolio will gradually update itself over time with the newer work you have done at the front and the older work at the back.
Your portfolio book is comprised of images that are colour corrected, digitally enhanced and airbrushed, This is because ideally you want to show the client how great you can look as a 'finished item'. The image quality is set at a very high standard and designed in such a manner that if need be that photograph can potentially be taken straight out of your portfolio book and placed directly into a magazine or catalogue for example.

Webfolio
This is a great networking tool, it is primarily your 'portfolio book' but displayed digitally on the internet. This style of portfolio is ideal for International work, being able to showcase yourself globally without having to make travel arrangements to go and see certain clients with your book as they can view this at any location online.
As with the portfolio book your images are colour corrected, digitally enhanced and airbrushed. Your webfolio will comprise of a home page, your online portfolio book and a contact page.

-Hosted for free for the first year, £40 thereafter for each additional year.
Business cards
This is so simple yet so effective ideal for when it comes to networking in the modelling industry. These are best used when you are on a paid shoot. Once your shoot is over you can hand out your business cards to the stylist's, makeup artist's and photographers indicating how much you enjoyed working with them and if any similar style of work comes up you would love to be recommended and work with them again.
Your business cards will display at least 1 head shot, 1 half body shot and 1 full length shot showcasing you in different lights. This will allow you to find a business card with an image that's closest to representing the shoot you have just done. The back of the business card will display your full name and contact details.
